Electronic services with TELK via Suomi.fi messages are not possible for the time being
Legislation concerning the digital primary delivery of official mail will enter into force on 14 April 2026. Electronic Suomi.fi messages will be introduced in 2026 for individuals who strongly authenticate themselves using online banking credentials or a mobile certificate when accessing an public authority’s electronic service (for example, Kela or MyTax). As a result of this change, mail sent by TELK will also in the future be delivered primarily in digital form to all individuals who receive Suomi.fi messages.
However, the technical implementation required for using the service is still underway, and therefore conducting business with TELK or receiving TELK notifications via Suomi.fi messages will not be possible starting from 14 April 2026. We will inform you separately when it becomes possible to use Suomi.fi messages for transactions with TELK.
The change does not concern:
-
individuals who do not use authorities’ online services with authentication but conduct their affairs through other channels
-
individuals who do not have a strong electronic means of identification, such as a mobile certificate or online banking credentials
-
individuals who do not have a Finnish personal identity code
-
individuals who are under guardianship or who have a valid power of attorney for guardianship, and where the information is recorded in the Register of Guardianship Affairs
